of: 101 Ways to Turn Content into Money
Review by: Nick Usborne
This e-book from Marcia Yudkin hits on a question I often ask myself,
Why do copywriters and writers use their skills only to sell
OTHER PEOPLES products and service, and not THEIR OWN?
If you have the skills to sell for others, why not use that same
skill set to write and promote your own products and services?
And Marcia Yudkin is right to focus on one thing we can all create
and sell our writing.
If you have been a freelancer for any length of time, you have
been writing thousands of words on a variety of subjects.
If you serve a particular niche, like technology, or sports, or
food, or fitness...or any other industry or industry segment, you
already have a wealth of specialized background knowledge.
Best of all, your clients have been paying you to build up that
knowledge and expertise.
So why not use that knowledge, and your writing skills, and create
your own content to sell?
101 ways to make money from what you know...
Not everyone wants to do the obvious, like writing an e-book. Although
with the right content and promotion, e-books can be very profitable.
But what else is there? What other ways are there to package what
you know, sell it and make money?
Marcia Yudkin has come up with 101 different ways. So I would hazard
a guess that at least one of them will work for you.
Here are just a few of her suggestions:
- Self-publish a book or condensed book
- Write booklets or Special Reports
- Record and sell audio interviews
- Create downloadable audio programs
- Record video or DVD programs
- Run an email or telephone seminar
- Start a Pay-Per-Question service
- Sell Workbooks and Journals
- Compile anthologies
- Create a subscription-only site or service
Youll find these and dozens of other ideas explored and explained
in detail.
Step back and think about it...
Think of your areas of expertise. Think about what you know and
what you could share with others.
Then think about the best medium by which to distribute that knowledge.
Are you a people person? Maybe youd like to run
seminars or webinars, or collect and compile phone interviews.
Are you more comfortable just writing? Then consider the myriad
ways of publishing your text...in books, booklets, on web sites,
as special reports and so on.
And she tells you how to get started...
One of the key features of this e-book is that Marcia not only
outlines the 101 ideas, but also provides links to further information
on each and every one of them.
So once you have identified a couple of ideas that might be a good
fit, you can then start researching each opportunity further.
If you like the idea of using your writing skills to sell information
products or services of your own, I would certainly recommend you
get a copy of this e-book.
